ACUMEN Corporation has long recognized the value of focused study and
certification on our core competencies and technologies. With that in mind we

Certified in Production Inventory Management (CPIM) |
At the center of this activity is our participation in the educational offerings of
APICS - The Educational Society for Resource Management.
Many of our professionals hold the CPIM or are in the process of achieving this
distinction. Being CPIM certified means completion of a rigorous course
of study in manufacturing, inventory management, and information
system concepts, and having passed 6 comprehensive exams. We strongly
believe that this certification compliments our practical experience and
adds real value to our manufacturing and distribution clients.
ACUMEN is a strong supporter of the local
APICS Richmond Chapter.

Certified Public Accountants (CPA's) |
At the center of most information systems is a comprehensive
accounting and financial system. Recognizing the importance of the
proper utilization of these financial tools and the proper interpretation of
the information provided by them, ACUMEN vigorously supports the
continuing education of our many professionals who hold the Certified
Public Accountant designation. ACUMEN routinely hosts CPE study
groups and is a participant in the regional activities of the American
Society of CPA's and the Institute for Management Accountants.

MBA and Post Graduate Degrees |
Many of our associates, including programmers, have achieved their
MBA. We truly believe that this brings a better understanding of the
challenges of the business world and allows even those associates
dealing with complex technical matters to better address our clients'
business needs. Other senior consultants have achieved Masters level
degrees in Computer Science and Engineering and one of our
professional consultants will soon complete his dissertation and achieve
his Phd.

Sometimes being in the swamp is the best way to learn to control the alligators.
Among our staff members are folks who have hands-on
experience in both swamp draining and alligator taming.
