ACUMEN receives Customer Service Award at Progress Conference
|
Several of us attended this year's annual Progress International User’s Conference and Expo
at the Marriott Copley Place and Hynes Convention Center complex in Boston.
It was an illuminating (and tiring) experience.
We returned more confident than ever that Progress is one of the most
innovative software companies on the scene today.
Their vision for deployment of core application development and internet/e-commerce tools
hits a bulls eye in the ERP/Supply Chain market segment.
|
While in Boston, we convened the first annual OpenAccounts
North American user group meeting.
ACUMEN was the official host, fulfilling our role as the
Center of Excellence
for OpenAccounts in North America.
In addition to users from both the United States and Canada, the meeting was attended by seven
representatives from OpenAccounts in the UK and five folks from ACUMEN.
Much was accomplished during our jam-packed agenda.
Perhaps of most significance was the election of the 1999-2000 Board of Directors:
| President |
Janet Jorgensen S&K Famous Brands Richmond, VA |
| Vice President |
Pat Sweeney World Courier New York City, NY |
| Vice President |
Jack Boulton Somerville Packaging Toronto, Ont. |
The new Board of Directors voted to hold the second annual conference in
Baltimore, Maryland in late May or early June of 2000 and promised to keep users informed
as an agenda emerges.
They also set about the task of scheduling conference calls with users, ACUMEN,
and OpenAccounts to define and prioritize product enhancements required in North America.

|
OpenAccounts surprised all attendees by using the venue to present their annual
Customer Service Award to ACUMEN Corporation.
As most of you know, any award that recognizes our efforts in customer service
means more to us than all the sales awards in the world.
Our goal is to be "customer centric" and this recognition reinforces our belief
that a commitment to a higher level of customer responsiveness does not go unnoticed.
Congratulations to our team on this significant achievement and
thanks to OpenAccounts for the honor.
