As a company that was itself a small entrepreneurial startup (27 years ago!), ACUMEN Corporation applauds the small business community in Richmond, VA. We really enjoy seeing seeds planted and growing into mature, successful businesses. Our CEO, Phil Perkins, and CFO, Sandra Dube, planted the ACUMEN seeds in 1991 and have tended and nurtured clients and employees alike, producing business relationships that continue to bear the fruits of success.
We attended a Startup VA (www.startupvirginia.org) event last week at their inspiring innovation center in the heart of downtown Richmond. The event, SVA Backstage Pass, happened to have our newest client’s co-CEOs, Brian Powers and James McGoff of TemperPack Technologies, Inc. (www.TemperPack.com) as featured guests. The room was packed with attendees. We felt very proud as Brian and James shared their story of being young friends, knowing they wanted to have a business together someday – and today have an incredibly successful sustainable packaging company.
